Lyrics

BERMUDA HIGH
words and music by Patrick Frost

Over the island of Bermuda
Eight hundred miles East of Charleston
There is a clockwise rotation of generally fair weather.
Steadily streaming forward from the Gulf of Mexico
Every Summer from Florida to Nova Scotia.

Now, the storms move west
On the southern edge til they find the western side
And the winds around the high
Turn the storms to the North and to the East.
This turn will typically occur
Before the cone of probability
Comes knockin on our door.

So, lift up your head to the sky and say, thanks to the Bermuda High
Guiding away a stormy day for a while. Just until the
Summer Sun gives a way to a crisp October day
it's the semi-permanent subtropical Bermuda High.

Large Bermuda High: Pushes hurricanes into the mainland
Small Bermuda High: Sends hurricanes away
Large Bermuda High: Pushes hurricanes into the mainland
Small Bermuda High: Sends hurricanes away.

So, lift up your head to the sky and say, thanks to the Bermuda High.
Guiding away a stormy day for a while. Just until the
Summer Sun gives a way to a crisp October day
It's the semi-permanent subtropical Bermuda High.

Just until the Summer Sun gives a way to a crisp October day.
It's the semi-permanent subtropical Bermuda high.
